Royal Mile pub and restaurant is sold

Busy Edinburgh pub The Royal McGregor has been bought by private investors for an undisclosed sum.

The hostelry on the Royal Mile had been owned for more than 15 years by James McGregor, who prides himself on recommendations from the pub's large selection of malt whiskies.

The bar, which currently has tenant management, doubles as a restaurant serving Scottish produce and is popular with tourists.

Tony Spence, business agent at Christie & Co who brokered the off-market sale, said: “The business is situated within a vibrant part of Edinburgh’s city Centre, the Royal Mile is one of the most popular areas in the city for tourists.

"This property investment presents an excellent opportunity for our clients going forward.”
