Royal Mile lockdown in Edinburgh after a man fell out of a window

The Royal Mile in Edinburgh was locked down tonight after a man fell out of a window.

Police have confirmed that the man fell around 5.40pm.

Earlier we reported how police had cordoned off an area outside the World's End pub.

There were social media reports of pools of blood on the ground.

The incident is likely to have caused disruption for fans travelling to a Proclaimers gig at Edinburgh Castle.

Lothian buses have been diverted away from the scene.
