I thought once was enough but I’m going back for a second bite.
In just under a week I’ll be running, crawling and wading across Woodbury Common in Devon for the second time in 12 months.
The Royal Marines Commando Challenge is back and I couldn’t resist another go. With places still available, you could be there too.
Taking place across the whole weekend there are 5k and 10k obstacle courses to tackle, depending on how tough you’re feeling.
From experience it starts off as a lovely run in gorgeous countryside.. and then things start to get a lot more difficult.
You WILL get wet. And you WILL be challenged to do things your mind is saying ’really’?
But that’s what it’s all about, pushing yourself a little further than you normally would.
It all takes place in a family-friendly atmosphere, is superbly run and all monies raised go to charity.
There’s plenty to enjoy for those not taking part, too, with an event village boasting live music, dog shows and, yes, the England v France World Cup rugby match on a big screen.
That won’t be the most fun thing you can watch here, though, with a live feed from the course being beamed back promising to be a laugh a minute.
