Royal Mail launches new uniform for postmen and women for first time in a decade

Royal Mail is rolling out a new uniform for postmen and women across the UK as part of the first change in a decade.

The new designs were based on feedback from postmen and postwomen, taking into account the changing nature of the job, including an increase in parcel deliveries.

This new-look uniform will include walking trousers and shorts, tops, jackets, gilets, and headwear.

The national rollout follows a three-month trial.

A team of experts in design, fabrics and product development collaborated with a leading industry expert in biomechanics in order to come up with the new-look design.

A Royal Mail spokesman said: “We worked closely with our people to come up with these designs which are poised to help them in their highly physical jobs while reflecting the shift towards more parcels.”
