It comes after Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle stepped back as “senior” royals in January 2020, with the break-up finalised in February 2021 following a statement from Buckingham Palace which confirmed the pair would not return as “working members of the royal family.”
In March, he and Markle featured in an explosive tell-all interview with Oprah in which the couple spoke frankly about their experiences as royals.
A month later, he mourned the loss of his grandfather, Prince Philip. Prince Harry travelled to St George’s Chapel in Windsor from his home in California to attend the funeral.
In June, the couple welcomed their second child, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
Together with brother Prince William, Prince Harry unveiled a statue honouring his late mother Princess Diana on what would have been her 60th birthday in July at Kensington Palace.
He has also taken part in The Me You Can’t See on Apple TV Plus alongside Winfrey in the hopes of sparking conversations around mental health.
Prince Harry and Markle have also signed deals with Spotify and Netflix, and we can expect to see a memoir from the 37-year-old in late 2022.
As Prince Harry looks ahead to his 37th trip around the sun, people took to Twitter to share their well-wishes:
