Royal Family 'keen for Eugenie and Beatrice to stay out of spotlight' in major blow for Yorks

The royal family are allegedly hoping that the immediate family of Prince Andrew will stay out of the spotlight.

According to a royal expert, the family is keen for Eugenie and Beatrice to "stay under the radar" after the disgraced royal is seen as an 'embarrasment'. Andrew Lownie, author of Traitor King, added that Sarah Ferguson also “continues to generate unfortunate headlines”.

However, Lownie added that the family are also desperate for more numbers of working royals after they lost both Andrew and the Sussexes consecutively.

Speaking to the Express, he said that both Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are unlikely to take on any huge roles due to starting families of their own and working.

“The Firm needs more working royals but the daughters are young mothers and have careers. Eugenie spends much time in Portugal so not ideal," Lownie told the Express.

Both Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice also have demanding careers with Eugenie being the associate director of the London art gallery Hauser & Wirth. Meanwhile, her older sister Beatrice is Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at the tech company Afiniti.

As the Record reports, after Eugenie's husband Jack Brooksbank landed a job with Discovery Land Company, the couple split their time between Britain and Portugal.

Lownie added: "There’s a hope the York family, in general, will stay under the radar… Their mother [ Sarah Ferguson ] continues to generate unfortunate headlines.”

Princess Anne previously raised some her worries about a "slimmed-down" Royal Family in an interview with the Canadian broadcaster CBC News.

The Princess Royal - who frequently carries out the most royal engagements in one year - said she did not believe cutting down the family was a "good idea".

Fergie recently started her own podcast Tea Talks with her friend, entrepreneur Sarah Thomson where she claims there is no topic that is off-limits.

Prince Andrew was pressured to step down as a working royal in 2019 due to his affiliations with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The Duke was stripped of his military titles, royal patronages and suffix of His Royal Highness.

Lownie added: “The family see him as an embarrassment but he has never been one to be pushed around. Self-awareness is not one of his qualities.”
