Prince Harry has yet to get through to his brother Prince William and it seems the future king is unlikely to budge anytime soon. While their father, King Charles has opened up to the idea of reconciliation, it seems William still doesn’t trust Meghan, leaving him to be the only one holding out on the potential reunion.
According to editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine Ingrid Seward, William is aware of how supporters of the monarchy on both sides of the pond feel about Meghan and it is apparently a major factor in the current feud between Prince Harry and Prince William. “The flea in the ointment really is very much Meghan,” Seward told Fox News Digital before going on to say that the Duchess of Sussex is not exactly well-liked in the U.K. or the U.S.
“She’s disliked intensely by a large number of the monarchists of this country. They see her as being very… damaging to the royal family. And also, I think a lot of people in America feel the same. They don’t like that Meghan [reportedly] dissed her husband’s family and dissed her own family.”
According to Seward, Meghan has a “black mark” against her name due to the fact she has been “unable to embrace” the royal family or even her own family. Many think it’s peculiar that Harry hasn’t even met her father despite being married for over seven years.
Harry’s calls to William go unanswered on account of Meghan
A report from PEOPLE magazine claims that the two brothers are continuing down separate paths and that there is absolutely no communication between William and Harry. Insiders told the outlet that Harry’s calls and messages to his brother have gone unanswered, Seward also pointed out that William has “taken a firm stance” in keeping his distance over the years, even after numerous interviews and tell-alls from Harry and Meghan.
The public perception of Meghan, coupled with the lack of trust between her and the royals is what’s holding William back. It seems one of William’s top concerns is that private conversations and things that happen behind the Palace doors would end up as front page news if Meghan were to return.
This means it’s unlikely that William will be the one to reach out first. On the other hand, Harry has insisted that his brother insulted Meghan during an argument between the siblings which apparently turned into a physical fight.
Robert Lacey, author of the book, Battle of the Brothers, which offered readers an inside look into the rift that formed between Harry and William claimed that the relationship between the two brothers would not be mended “until Harry makes a move and apologizes.” Of course that might be difficult if William is dodging his calls.
