Royal Caribbean Cruises has pushed back to at least May when its ships will sail again.
On Tuesday, Royal Caribbean, which suspended the sailings of its global fleet due to the coronavirus, said ships would resume sailing on May 12. The company originally announced on March 14 that it would cancel cruise services until April 11.
For Alaska, Canada and New England cruises, sailings will commence on July 1 because of port closures, the company said.
"We are working with our guests to address this disruption to their vacations, and we are genuinely sorry for their inconvenience. We are also working with our crew to sort out the issues this decision presents for them," Royal Caribbean said in a statement.
Carnival Cruise Line told the Miami Herald that the company will decide by Friday on whether to extend its cruise cancellations. The company encouraged guests and travel agents to watch for emails and check its website. Carnival said on March 13 that it would cancel all of its cruises for 30 days.
Norwegian Cruise Line, Disney Cruise Line and MSC Cruises did not respond to the Herald on whether they would extend suspension of their sailings.
