Royal biographer points out Prince Harry's 'heartbreaking regret' for Baby Archie

It's been a busy old week for Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Not only has he finally been able to meet Prince Charles , his grandfather, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also swung by Frogmore Cottage on Tuesday.

Sadly he'll have to wait a little longer for cuddles with his older cousins, as William and Kate's visit took place after George, Charlotte and Louis' bedtime.

These introductions come hot on the heels of Prince Harry's aunt, Lady Jane Fellowes, being one of the first to see the Sussexes as a family of three.

Of course, there is one very important person whom Archie will tragically never have the pleasure of knowing.

Prince Harry is said to regret that his son will never meet his mother, Princess Diana.

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe, who wrote Prince Harry: The Inside Story, said it is "one of his big regrets".

Mr Larcombe told Yahoo’s Royal Box: "I think we've seen how happy Harry is and in that interview he couldn't hide his joy.

"But, Diana's missing.

Prince William says losing mum Princess Diana was a 'pain like no other'

"In a quiet moment away from all the hoi-polloi and the fuss he will sit down and one of his big regrets will be that he never had an opportunity to show his mum how proud he is of his new son.

"Unfortunately that's something Harry’s had to live with since he was 12."

However, Mr Larcombe believes some good will emerge from Diana no longer being here.

He added: "We've got to remember for people who have lost their parents in childhood it gives extra significance once they've become parents themselves.

"When Harry is the hands-on dad that I’m sure he will be, he'll remember all the special times he had, all the fun things he did with his mother, and this little boy will have one hell of an upbringing because Harry will throw everything he does into his family."
