Royal baby news: Did Serena Williams just reveal the sex of Meghan and Harry's first child?

Tennis champion Serena Williams may have accidentally revealed the sex of Meghan and Harry’s first child.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not revealed if they are expecting a boy or a girl and have so far kept details of the baby’s due date under wraps. It is thought that the baby could arrive anytime from mid to late April.

But the 37-year-old tennis ace, who is a close friend of Meghan’s, may have inadvertently let the cat out of the bag and hinted that the royal couple were expecting a girl.

Williams hosted Meghan’s New York baby shower in February and recently offered advice to new mothers in an interview with E! News.

Speaking about a “pregnant friend”, she said: “Accept mistakes and don’t expect to be perfect. We put so much pressure on ourselves.

“My friend is pregnant and she’s like ‘Oh, my kid’s going to do this’, and I just looked at her and I was like, ‘No, she’s not’.”

While Williams did not mention Meghan directly, it prompted rumours on social media she was speaking about the royal baby.

She added: “Everything is not going to go as planned, you’ve just got to go with the flow”.

In the run-up to the birth, the couple said they are “immensely grateful for the outpouring of love and support in anticipation of the birth of their first child”.
