The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have spoken publicly for the first time since the birth of their son on Monday.
In a photocall at St George’s Hall, Windsor Castle, Meghan revealed her newborn, whose name has not yet been announced, has the “sweetest temperament” and is “really calm”.
“It’s magic, it’s pretty amazing,” the 37-year-old added. “I have the two best guys in the world so I’m really happy. He’s just been the dream so it’s been a special couple of days.”
When asked who the baby takes after in terms of looks, Meghan said: “We’re still trying to figure that out”, with Prince Harry adding: “Everyone says that babies change so much over two weeks we’re basically monitoring how the changing process happens over this next month really. But his looks are changing every single day, so who knows.”
As for parenting itself, Harry explained that he had found the experience “amazing” so far.
“It’s only been two and a half days, three days, but we’re just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy.”
Meghan concluded the interview by expressing her gratitude to the British public. “Thank you everybody for all the well wishes and kindness,” she said, “it just means so much.” Meghan gave birth to her 7lb 3oz son on Monday at 5.26am.
He is seventh in line to the throne and the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh’s eighth great-grandchild.
