Inside Baby Sussex's gender-neutral nursery with mood screen and VERY fancy cot

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's new baby boy will sleep in a 'gender-neutral' bedroom that has been newly renovated.

The Duchess of Sussex decided against using 'gendered colours', such as pink or blue, in the design of their son's room at Frogmore Cottage, Windsor, according to a royal expert.

It is claimed the Duchess used different shades of grey 'vegan paint' in the room, which she transformed as part of a £3million renovation of their new home.

Some vegans refuse to use certain paints, as many are tested on animals to ensure that they are safe and also contain beeswax or milk, which are used as binders.

The nursery itself is thought to have cost £150,000 to spruce up - with the help of a German interiors company.

And in February Meghan was gifted a £290 convertible cot during her New York baby shower.

Tennis ace Serena Williams, mum to 18-month-old Alexis, offered pal Meghan advice on her nursery plans, it is reported.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl told the The Sun that the Duchess had deliberately avoided stereotypical gender colours, instead opting for a 'monochrome palette'.

German paper Braunschweiger Zeitung, revealed that the parents have selected "natural and grey tones".

Delighted with their coup Auro shared the news on its Facebook page writing: “We are very happy that the prince couple has decided for a product from our assortment!”

It is believed that Meghan has also overseen the installation of a mother-and-baby yoga room at Frogmore Cottage, complete with a soft floor designed to prevent injuries.

The couple are also reported to have chosen to embrace technology, shunning royal traditions in favour of a state-of-the art nursery.

As part of the refurbishment, the nursery is said to be kitted out with the latest tech including cameras, security windows, a "mood screen" and a stereo system.

Royal expert Kate Nicholl told Vanity Fair: “They are going all out with the refurbishment of the house, and as Harry loves his gadgets, it’s going to be very cool.

“They’ll be able to control everything from their smart phones.”

As part of the refurbishment Meghan has reportedly asked for childproof windows at Frogmore Cottage to ensure their little one is safe at all times.

A source told The Sun that Serena played 'a massive role' in helping Meghan design her child's room.

Some royal watchers have speculated that Meghan and Harry may choose the tennis champion as a godmother for their baby boy.

Meghan became friends with the athlete in 2014 and has grown very close to her since the royal wedding.

The Duchess of Sussex gave birth to her child at around 5.26am yesterday, with the baby weighing 7lb 3oz.

The Queen, who is staying at Windsor Castle, is expected to visit her great-grandson for this first time later today.
