Royal Ascot 2022 day 2 market movers, weather and morning news round-up

It's bookmakers one, punters nil after day one of Royal Ascot 2022. Nature Strip's stunning King's Stand Stakes performance aside, it was a tough opening day for punters with the last three favourites all finishing second but they were the opening salvos of a long week and there are plenty of horses being backed again this morning.

After a flurry of Group 1 events on the opening day, the focus on day two is the Prince Of Wales's Stakes where the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Bay Bridge has been backed down to 10/11 (from 11-8) to open his Group 1 account. Japanese raider Shahryar has been relatively easy to back (top price 4/1) despite quick conditions being in his favour - a lack of pace in the race could be an issue for him though.

One of the biggest overnight movers is Legend Of Dubai who is now a 5-1 favourite for the Royal Hunt Cup after being available at a general 9-1 on Tuesday evening.

Dramatised, who took the breath away at Newmarket on debut, is the one punters want to be with in the opening Queen Mary Stakes (11-4 from 4-1). Check out our full list of today's market movers below.

Despite not riding a winner on the opening day, Ryan Moore remains odds on (10-11) to end the week as champion jockey.

It's going to be another scorcher at the Berkshire venue with temperatures set t reach a high of 25C by mid afternoon.

Ground conditions are officially described as good to firm on both the straight and round courses after 4mm of water was added to the track on Tuesday evening.

Today's seven-race Royal Ascot card begins at 2.30 and runs right through to the final contest at 6.10. ITV Racing will be showing EVERY race throughout the week - the first six will be on the main channel while the final will be shown on ITV4.

Fast ground and stunning weather look set to be the theme of the week up until Saturday when thunderstorms are forecast, and most importantly, Ascot is back to full capacity for the first time since the pandemic.
