Royal Antwerp face major upheaval ahead of Rangers clash as boss offered lucrative China deal

Royal Antwerp look set for major upheaval ahead of their Europa League showdown with Rangers.

The Belgians are likely to lose boss Ivan Leko in a lucrative deal to take him to China.

Steven Gerrard 's side face the Jupiler Pro League side abroad in February before a return leg at Ibrox.

A place in the last 16 beckons for the winner but Antwerp may have to fill a gap in the dugout first before tackling Rangers.

Antwerp chiefs have indicated they won't stand in Leko's way if he accepts the offer.

The club have already been linked with former Belgium boss Marc Wilmots as a replacement for the 42-year-old, who guided Antwerp to their first trophy in 29 years last season.

Wilmots was Belgium manager for four years and got them to the World Cup quarter-finals in Brazil in 2014 before being sacked after a poor Euro 2016 campaign.

He took charge of Ivory Coast, but was axed after failing to qualify for the World Cup and lasted just seven months as Iran boss before being fired last year.

He's keen to get back to club management and could lead Antwerp against Rangers next year.
