Royal Albert say 'we're no s****bags' in friendly row with Larkhall Thistle fans

Royal Albert secretary Peter Higgins has angrily defended the club after jibes were directed at them following a friendly against local rivals Larkhall Thistle being cancelled.

The fixture on Saturday was called off due to a fixtures mix-up, but Higgins took to social media to defend the Albert, saying "Stop messaging me asking why the Albert pulled out of the friendly.

"We're no s****bags, or a Mickey Mouse team or any of the other derogatory comments used."

Higgins told Lanarkshire Live Sport: "It's a mix-up of friendlies and I was getting some Tweets from fans of Larkhall saying the usual stuff.

"It's just a spat, it's something out of nothing."
