Palace aides have reportedly called for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to give up their titles after Prince Harry's latest dig at the Royal Family.
In an explosive interview this week, Prince Harry criticised the way he was brought up, saying it had felt like "a mixture between The Truman Show and being in a zoo".
Harry took aim at his father Prince Charles on the Armchair Expert Podcast, and said he wanted to "break the cycle" of "suffering" when it comes to his own children - the Mirror UK reports.
He told host and actor Dax Shepard: "When it comes to parenting, if I've experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered, I'm going to make sure I break that cycle so that I don't pass it on."
He spoke of a "genetic pain" passed down through the family. But Royal aides say Harry and Meghan should now have to relinquish their titles.
One insider told The Mail on Sunday : "There is a growing feeling that if you dislike the institution that much, you shouldn't have the titles.
"The Duke of Sussex has now spent a significant amount of time emphasising that he's no different to anyone else and attacking the institution which he says has caused him so much pain."
Harry and Meghan pledged not to use their HRH titles after stepping back as senior members of the Royal Family, but have continued to use Duke and Duchess.
In the palace, there is said to be resentment at the couple's decision to speak publicly.
A royal source told The Times earlier this week: "“Nobody is shocked any more. It is more: ‘Here we go again.’ But he should be told that these grievances should be aired in the privacy of your own home.
"Don’t do it publicly in a podcast. Get on with your life.”
This is the latest development in the family feud after the couple's bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview in March.
Meghan spoke of the intense pressures of being in the Royal Family, and claimed she had been left feeling suicidal.
She alleged racist comments were made to Harry about the potential skin colour of their then-unborn child Archie, and the couple said a Royal Family member had expressed "concerns" over "how dark" their son's skin might be.
In the interview Harry also spoke of his troubled relationship with his father, saying Prince Charles had stopped taking his calls after the couple's shock break from the Royal Family.
He suggested Charles and brother William were "trapped" in the Royal Family. He said he felt "really let down" by his father, and added that the family had "cut him off financially".
There were hopes father and son could repair their bond after the death of Prince Philip last month, but the relationship still appears to be strained.
