Roy Williams reveals the one regret he has from his first meeting with 2 Chainz

Wednesday’s meeting between North Carolina and top-ranked Duke looks to be one of the more highly anticipated clashes in the rivalry’s history.

Zion Williamson has made Duke must-watch TV this season even for Duke haters, and with get-in ticket prices for the game at Cameron Indoor Stadium exceeding $2,000, North Carolina head coach Roy Williams expects to see some celebrities in the building.

Williams just hopes that any new meeting with famous people won’t leave him with the same sense of regret that he has from his first introduction to Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz. Williams could have made that meeting an all-timer had he been a little more quick-witted.

Calling into the David Glenn Show on Tuesday, the North Carolina head coach recalled meeting 2 Chainz at the Duke game last year and said that he had no idea who the rapper was, but upon hearing the name “2 Chainz,” he wish he had responded, “3 Ringz.”

That would have been too good.

Roy Williams aka 3 Ringz is the rapper we never knew we needed.
