Roy Keane is back in the frame for the Celtic job - but Hotline callers aren’t so keen.
The Manchester United legend was close to taking over from Neil Lennon in 2014 when he spoke to Dermot Desmond and again finds himself among the frontrunners to replace the axed Northern Irishman seven years later.
But while Keane would undoubtedly reignite the fire it’s whether he could bring back the flair that remains the sticking point.
William Hutchison, Aberdeen, said: “I hope Roy Keane doesn't get the job. Sure he can fire the team up on touchline with his angry voice. But I don't think he's actually good manager. Just look at his past records.”
Andy McAulay, Glasgow, added: “Keane hasn’t managed for 10 years so should be nowhere near the Parkhead job. Okay he’s been an assistant but we can’t be taking a risk on this no matter how big the name is.”
Frank McFerran, Carrickfergus, said: “As a Rangers fan I hope Roy Keane gets the Celtic manager’s job. He’s just a clone of Neil Lennon. Come on Mr Desmond give him the job.”
Onto managerless Aberdeen and Andrew Lamb, Fraserburgh , said: “No matter who gets the Dons job Dave Cormack must show ambitıon by trying to recruit quality strikers and getting rid of the dross currently on loan. Names like Laurence Shankland and Louıs Moult, wingers like Jake Hastıe and a loan move for someone like Graeme Shinnie or Greg Docherty. That has to be the minimum standard of new recruit.”
We’re still waiting on a decision over this weekend’s Celtic vs Rangers clash but callers aren’t short of scoreline suggestions.
Yesterday George Halley suggested cancelling the dead rubber and calling it a 1-1 draw.

But George Wilson, West Sussex, said: “I’m not sure where George’s reasoning is coming from in awarding Celtic a draw or even a goal. Rangers are strong bookmakers favourites and have won the last three league games easily and prior to that lost a cup final they totally dominated.
“A 3-0 victory is the normal score when games don't get played so lets award Rangers a 3-0 win and forget about it’s only Celtic’s pride now at stake. Rangers have outclassed them on and off the park this season and have nothing more to prove.”
Elsewhere and Bill Mclellan, Cumbria, had a message for football’s divers: “Watching the Scotland v Ireland six nations match I was struck by how those guys make footballers look like pampered tarts!!
"The boys in that game had blood on their battered faces BEFORE the game started!! When football players stop hitting the deck because their hairstyles have been ruffled or their tans smudged then perhaps they will be taken more seriously!!
Sticking with rugby and while VAR is taking a pounding in football circles Scott Gowers, Edinburgh, reckons TMO in the oval ball game is every bit as controversial.
He said: “Scotland rugby team are sitting second bottom but should possibly being going for the grand slam. TMO sent a Scotland player off against Wales yet a Wales player should have faced the wrath of TMO but didn't. Ireland beat Scotland even though Scotland scored more tries, all Scotland's tries went to TMO yet neither of Ireland's two did and one could have been ruled out for a knock on and another ruled out for having been held up, even the camera footage has never shown the ball touched down.
"The officials, all French seem to have followed in Craig Joubert's form when Scotland should have beaten Australia in the world cup semi final.”
