Roy Keane won't be Hibs next manager as 'transfer tactics' put Manchester United icon off

Roy Keane will not be the new Hibs boss as the 50-year-old is not being considered on the short list.

It is understood that Easter Road chiefs have not had any contact with the ex-Manchester United hero despite his representatives showing interest over the post following the departure of Shaun Maloney.

According to reports, Keane was not enamoured by Hibs' approach to transfers which includes a need for a committee vote rather than the manager having the final say.

The decision making tactic is thought to have put the Irishman off the job, meaning he will not be interviewed.

The ex-Sunderland and Ipswich boss was rumoured to be the front runner after Shaun Maloney was sacked by the club just fourth months post appointment.

But the interest has ceased and Keane will not feature on Ron Gordon' s shortlist, due to be compiled when he arrives back in Scotland later this week.

Hibs are thought to be looking for an experienced option to fill the managerial vacancy after the side failed to succeed under young boss Maloney.

However, the short time-frame given to the ex-winger may put some potential candidates off.

The Easter Road side are now looking for their third manager of the season after parting ways with Jack Ross back in December last year.

Various named have been linked with the post as Henning Berg and Phillio Cocu.

Silkeborg boss Ken Nielsen, Forest Green gaffer Rob Edwards, and former Hibs boss Tony Mowbray also feature in the betting for the post, but the Easter Road chiefs are keeping their cards close to their chest for now.
