Roy Keane: Tottenham have 'weakness and softness in their DNA'

Roy Keane insists there’s “still a weakness and softness to Tottenham’s DNA”.

The Irishman was speaking ahead of Spurs against Manchester United and believes traits associated with the north London club during his own playing days still remain.

And with United starting the resumption of the Premier League three points behind Chelsea in the race to finish inside the top four, Keane insists Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side must expose Spurs.

Keane said on Sky Sports: “If I was involved in that group, I’d expect United to beat Tottenham. I mention about Tottenham in the last 10-15 years, it was slightly different under Pochettino, when they got a bit stronger.

“But I say, in that DNA with Spurs, there’s still a weakness to them, there’s still a softness to them.

“I fully expect United to flex their muscles tonight, if not the starting XI, then the options off the bench, to beat this Tottenham team.

“If United smell that lack of confidence, they have got to be ruthless and do the business tonight as United have got to hunt Chelsea down and possibly Leicester.”
