Roy Keane slot on Late Late Show prompts viewers to vent frustration at RTE

Roy Keane made a highly anticipated appearance on RTE's Late Late Show last night and viewers were left irritated by the former football star's late slot on the programme.

The Man Utd icon was the star attraction of the show and was kept until the latest slot - which viewers took to social media to criticise

Many asked could they simply skip every other guest and bring on Keane and his puppies.

Dozens of people were tweeting asking when would Keane finally be brought on - one said: "The nation is literally waiting for Roy Keane since 9:30pm. The Late Late Show send him out."

Tom Hickey said: "Could someone check if Roy Keane is still in the building? I’m sure he’s as frustrated as I am waiting for his appearance. Have they locked him in a cupboard?"

Tony O'Sullivan added: "Roy Keane will have grown a new beard by the time Ryan brings him on."

While Sean Stack said: "I'm beginning to wonder if Roy Keane has headed back to Cork. He is probably as fed up as us waiting to come on this 'show'."

The wait even made it onto the Ireland Simpsons Fans Page with thousands of viewers dying to see Keane questioned by Ryan Tubridy.

The Corkman did eventually appear on TV screens along with some adorable puppies and made it worthwhile for those who did wait up.

Donegal schoolboy Daragh Curley who wrote a letter to Jurgen Klopp also appeared on the couch with Roy for a few moments.

The United fan told Roy his dream was to play rugby to the amusement of everyone in the audience.

You can watch the interview back over on RTE's Player.
