Roy Keane slams Manchester United first half display against Wolves

Roy Keane has blasted Manchester United's first-half performance against Wolves in the Premier League, calling them 'lacklustre' and accusing them of relying on their talent alone.

United were level 0-0 at half-time of their fixture at the Molineux Stadium but were on the back foot for the most part of the first 45 minutes as Adama Traore ran them ragged at the back. Fred and Paul Pogba were struggling in central midfield as Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane made their first starts for the club following summer moves to the club, and Keane wasn't happy with the performance.

Speaking on Sky Sports as a pundit for the game, the former United captain said:

"They’re depending on their talent alone, as if they got it to get through the game.

"It’s like they’ve been at a European game in Russia somewhere and they got back late Thursday morning. They just haven’t got going.

"United are still dangerous but their overall play is lacklustre. That doesn’t look great either [the balance], players giving the ball away cheaply, there’s no energy. It’s all kind of five-a-side football."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are without Cristiano Ronaldo, who agreed to re-join the club after three years in Juventus in a shocking deal on Friday but Keane joked that they were so bad he may even pull out of the deal if he'd been watching.

"I hope Ronaldo isn’t watching, he’d be pulling out of the deal. Really not good enough, I’ll be critical of both teams because Wolves have to be more clinical."
