Roy Keane sidesteps Rangers title praise as he warns Celtic WILL be back

Former Celtic star Roy Keane refused the chance to join in the Rangers celebrations in the wake of their title triumph.

The legendary midfielder enforcer was a guest of Sky Sports' Sunday football coverage but was unable to muster the same enthusiasm being displayed by Graeme Souness.

Keane - who turned down the chance to manage Celtic in 2014 and is one of the favourites to succeed Neil Lennon this time around - produced a simple message when asked if he had any kind words for Steven Gerrard and his runaway league winners.

He said: "For Rangers?

"No. Listen it’s been a tough year for Celtic but they’ll bounce back next year like all great clubs do."

Keane is regarded as a long shot this time around for the vacancy after previously claiming it was the "right job at the wrong time" seven years ago.

The Manchester United icon appears settled as part of Sky' all-star line-up and he is only a week removed from an on-air ding-dong with former Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp.
