Roy Keane sends message to Arsenal attacker Bukayo Saka after Liverpool links

Roy Keane has told Bukayo Saka that he can play for Europe’s best amid reported interest from Liverpool.

The Reds have been tentatively linked with Saka over the past few weeks, thanks to his impressive form for Arsenal.

Saka has seven goals in all competitions, including six in the Premier League, and is second behind only Emile Smith Rowe (nine) in terms of Arsenal scorers.

The form of the England international has led to speculation that Liverpool could make a move to bring him to Anfield either this month or, more likely, in the summer.

Saka signed a new deal with Arsenal in the summer of 2020, but prior to his contract extension he was linked with Liverpool for the first time.

Now thanks to his form and Liverpool being tipped to sign a new forward, fresh links have emerged that the Reds could make a move for the 20-year-old.

Speaking during ITV’s coverage of Arsenal’s defeat to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Sunday, Keane waxed lyrical about Saka and his potential to play for the world’s best teams.

Keane believes that Saka is a “special talent”, but did not speculate any further over whether or not a move could be on the cards in the future.

“He can play for any of the big teams in England and in Europe,” Keane told ITV Sport. “I think he is a special talent.

“He has that ability to beat a man and make something happen. When he speaks as well, he seems a very humble kid, so he has a chance to become a great, great player. He has that talent.”

After rumours linking Saka with a move to Liverpool surfaced, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said that it was "great news" that his players were being noticed by other clubs.

"I think that’s great news when you have a lot of talk and people willing for you players, it’s a really good sign," Arteta told The Mirror last week.

"They should be proud because that means they are doing extremely good work."
