Roy Keane sends Marcus Rashford message as Arsenal great makes Man United transfer claim

Ray Parlour has claimed that Arsenal would "definitely be interested" in signing Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford as questions mount on the attacker's status at the club - but former United star Roy Keane says the England international should stay and fight for his place.

The 24-year-old is reportedly considering his future at Old Trafford amid claims that he is dissatisfied with becoming a squad player under interim boss Ralf Rangnick.

Arsenal are certain to be in the market for a striker in the summer after failing to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after he joined Barcelona in the January transfer window.

Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are also out of contract in June, making the acquisition of a striker pivotal this summer. football.london understand that the Gunners are targeting two attackers.

Parlour believes that Rashford would be a quality addition to Mikel Arteta's squad if he were to become available, but claims it’s unlikely that United would sell the England star.

"I'm sure lots of clubs will be enquiring about Marcus Rashford if he is available in the summer," Parlour told talkSPORT.

"I do not know what he has got left on his contract. Certainly Arsenal, I would love him to come to Arsenal.

"I do not think he would be available. I think Manchester United would be mad if they did sell him or got rid of Marcus, but if they did, I’m sure Arsenal would definitely be interested."

However, United legend Keane has urged Rashford to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place rather than look for a move to another club.

"He's had a difficult few months, a lot of players do, they have their ups and downs, he's got to get through it, maybe simplify his game, start running in behind, start enjoying it again," Keane told Sky Sports.

"You have to remind Marcus that, despite all the brilliant things he's done, he's playing for Manchester United which is honestly one of the best feelings in the world, playing for a big club."

Rashford's contract with United runs until the summer of 2023.
