Roy Keane has warned that Liverpool's recent form has made him reevaluate who will win the Premier League.
Both Manchester United and Man City can leapfrog Liverpool if they win their games in hand in the Premier League after the Reds' defeat to Southampton on Monday evening.
Jurgen Klopp's side have not won in three matches, having also slumped to draws against West Brom and Newcastle United during the festive period.
With Man City and Man United both hitting form recently and Pep Guardiola's Covid-hit side recording an impressive win over Chelsea at the weekend, Keane feels the title race could be closer than he originally thought.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said that Liverpool's recent form will be giving their rivals some confidence.
He said: "I think Liverpool’s performances have given me more encouragement for City.
"Especially with City’s last few performances, they’ll tell you that they’ve got the eye of the tiger back. Obviously a little bit of confidence and what will encourage United and City is the way that Liverpool are having a little blip.
"Yeah, they look like their hunger is back - there was never any question about their quality even if they are missing one or two players, but the quality they have in this team and with the manager, of course they can win the league now."
The next two weeks could prove crucial in the Premier League title race.
Both Man United and City play in midweek, before Liverpool face the Red Devils on January 17 in what is their next Premier League game.
