Roy Keane's two-word tribute to Man City superstar Kevin De Bruyne

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has described Man City star Kevin De Bruyne as 'pure quality' and 'one of the best in the world'.

The Belgian midfielder scored and assisted for Man City in a resounding 4-0 win over Premier League champions Liverpool on Thursday night.

And that has led to a glowing review from Keane, who perhaps perfectly summed up what so many think of De Bruyne with the words 'pure quality'.

“He’s an outstanding player, obviously one of the best in the world," Keane told Sky Sports.

"He makes the game look so easy. Pure quality, that’s the word that springs to mind when you talk about him.”

De Bruyne has scored 13 and assisted 20 this season for City as Pep Guardiola's men prepare to finish in second spot.

The 29-year-old has already made eight more appearances than last season when he only managed six goals and 11 assists across all competitions.

Guardiola has been blown away by De Bruyne this season, admitting he finds it difficult to describe his performances these days.

"It’s not necessary for me to say absolutely anything about Kevin any more," the City boss said in March. "I’d just say: ‘Take a look at how he plays’.

"The performance level, the continuity, the influence in our final third and on our finishing, the desire, his calmness and positivity. I mean, I asked him: ‘Kevin, what did you feel before you took that penalty?’ and he just said: ‘I’m going to score’.

"He doesn’t feel much pressure, he likes to play in the big events, he’s an exceptional player.

"I say to him: ‘Kevin, don’t forget, do the simple things properly’. Sometimes he’s alone and might lose the ball.

"He’s able to see something special and you have the spaces no one else can see but even with that he’s improving and improving."
