Manchester United legend Roy Keane has cast his suspicions over Cristiano Ronaldo's return to the Old Trafford squad.
Red Devils boss Ralf Ragnick has started the Portuguese star in today's match with Tottenham at Old Trafford and he smashed home the game's opening goal from 25 yards.
It comes a week after Manchester City handed a 4-1 Premier League drubbing to their city rivals, with Ronaldo not involved from the start or the bench.
Reports then emerged that the legendary forward was back home in Portugal to recover from a hip flexor problem.
Keane wasn't amused by the problem and insists it's interesting to note how the injury has healed so quickly after missing out on a bad day at the office for Manchester United.
There was more than a hint of sarcasm in Keane's tone but after Ronaldo hammered one into the top corner it looked positively prescient, given the 37-year-old was looking as sharp as he has done for quite some time.
He told Sky Sports: "I am glad he has recovered. Obviously a few days in Portugal has done the trick for his hip flexor injury problems.
"But it is good to see him back as he's a quality player. Whatever has gone on in the background, he obviously didn't want to sit on the bench.
"He's starting and his goals record is fantastic. I could talk about the thing he's not good at but if you get the ball in the area, he can score."
