Roy Keane's Republic of Ireland career in photos 26 years after his debut

Roy Keane made his Republic of Ireland debut aged just 20 against Chile 26 years ago.

His international bow came after bursting onto the scene at Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest.

He went onto become a Premier League legend, a Manchester United captain and one of the greatest players to ever don the green shirt.

His fiery temperament is well known to anyone with even a passing interest in football - it helped him claim seven Premier League titles a Champions League and a host of other domestic trophies.

It also led to one of the greatest sagas in Irish sport - his leaving Ireland's World Cup camp in Saipan to return home.

We've had a look back through the annals to pay tribute to his service to the Republic.
