Roy Keane's 'idiot' Kyle Walker blast sparks Manchester City complaint as club bite back over on-air tirade

Raging Manchester City have reportedly submitted a complaint to broadcaster Sky Sports regarding comments made by pundit Roy Keane.

The outspoken Irishman was on duty for the mammoth title clash between City and current champions Liverpool earlier this month.

He was unimpressed with the defending of England star Kyle Walker who gave away a penalty for a foul on Reds attacker Sadio Mane.

Keane branded the former Tottenham man "an idiot" before going on to say: "He’s a car crash, keeps making these types of mistakes and is rightly punished for it."

And, according to the Daily Mail, senior figures at City felt that Keane, whose Premier League punditry is always close to the edge, overstepped the mark on this occasion.

It's not the first time the pundit has been involved in a complaint, although it was fellow ITV World Cup 2018 pundit Ian Wright who prompted an Ofcom investigation when he mimicked his colleague's Irish accent.

Keane had questioned England fans preparing for the final in Russia before they'd progressed past Croatia in the semis.
