Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane made a classy gesture as he approached one of his former players after Nottingham Forest stunned Arsenal in the FA Cup third round.
Lewis Grabban's late goal proved to be the difference as Mikel Arteta's side tasted defeat at the City Ground.
Keane was in attendance as part of ITV's coverage of the clash and started his professional career with Forest before his move to Old Trafford.
When he moved into management, after spells with Sunderland and Ipswich, he accompanied Martin O'Neil at Forest as assistant manager in 2019.
Grabban's winner set up a fourth-round clash with Premier League opposition and holders Leicester City.
Ryan Yates was the provider for the goal that booked their place in the next round of the competition and is a player the 50-year-old knows well from his time in West Bridgford.
The City Ground erupted as Craig Pawson blew the full-time whistle and as the players made their way off the pitch, Keane approached the 24-year-old.
"Only because when I worked here for a short time with Martin [O'Neil]. What he has got is an unbelievable attitude, listen he can be short in ability but he obviously showed today his attitude is fantastic and I just said to him 'well done' [sic] and produced the moment of the game with the cross," he told ITV Football about the encounter.
Defeat leaves Arteta's side with just one realistic chance of silverware as they battle on in the Carabao Cup front with two legs against Liverpool for a place in the final.
