Manchester United legend Roy Keane has delivered a damming verdict of Mikel Arteta's Arsenal team.
The Gunners went into Sunday's Premier League clash against Newcastle United in the bottom half of the table and are in danger of missing out on European football for the first time in over two decades.
Of course, winning the Europa League will seal a return to the Champions League for next season and Arteta's decision to make eight changes to his Arsenal side shows where his priority is.
Trailing 2-1 from their semi-final first-leg against Villarreal, the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Nicolas Pepe, and Thomas Partey have all been rested with next Thursday in mind.
With that said, Keane has chosen to dissect Arsenal's league form.
And it's the lack of goals scored in the top flight of English football this season in which the former Man United captain has highlighted as the biggest problem Arteta has at the Emirates Stadium.
"They've been so poor, really," Keane said on Sky Sports. "Usually when we criticise Arsenal over the years, it’s about the defensive side of the game, but going forward is where they’ve been really poor.
"They've not scored enough goals, they’ve made eight changes, he’s chopping and changing, he has priorities.
"The priority this week is of course trying to win the Europa League, get into the Champions League which would be a major boost for the football club.
"But in terms of their league form, they’ve been really poor.
Even over the years when Arsenal haven’t been great, you still enjoy watching them, but not this Arsenal team, they’re not great to watch, they’re not great going forward.
"This is one of the poorest Arsenal teams I’ve ever seen: lack of leadership, lack of quality, lack of characters - I wouldn’t be expecting too much from this team."
