Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has slammed Tottenham defender Danny Rose following England's defeat to the Czech Republic on Friday.
Harry Kane gave the Three Lions an early lead from the penalty spot after Raheem Sterling was fouled but a sloppy defensive display led to England suffering their first defeat in qualifying for a decade.
It took just four minutes for the hosts to pull level in Prague, as Jakub Brabec bundled home from a corner, before Zdenek Ondrasek netted the winning goal on his debut in the dying moments.
Rose was singled out for criticism for his involvement in the second goal and, speaking after the match, Keane did not hold back with his view on the full-back.
“Rose gave a performance tonight, my goodness, someone has got to get a hold of that guy. He was shocking, abysmal,” he told ITV.
“I think he’ll be the same in another three or four years. Some players don’t learn from their mistakes, that’s a big problem and at the highest level you will suffer for it.”
England 's defeat means that Gareth Southgate's side missed the chance to secure their ticket to next summer's European Championships and they will be looking to bounce back on Monday against Bulgaria.
However, Rose will be unavailable for the match after being booked during the defeat in the Czech capital and will serve a suspension for the Three Lion's trip to Sofia.
