Roy Keane roasts Gary Neville as Manchester United hero blames 'bullied' team-mate for infamous Arsenal tunnel aggro

Roy Keane has jokingly blamed Gary Neville for his infamous Highbury tunnel bust-up with Patrick Vieira.

The former Manchester United skipper clashed with his Arsenal counterpart back in 2005 in a row which has come to epitomise the rivalry between the two clubs.

Clashes between the two teams - managed by Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger - came to define the era in English football.

In the classic footage, Keane can be seen calling out Vieira as the teams prepare to walk out, telling him: "I'll see you out there!"

Revisiting the incident on Sky Sports ahead of Sunday's Premier League meeting between United and the Gunners at Old Trafford, a mischievous Keane insists Neville caused the aggro.

He quipped the former right-back was being "bullied" by the Arsenal midfielder, which then forced Keane to step in.

"It looks a lot worse than what really happened," he said.

"Gary Neville should be here, because it was Gary's fault. He was getting bullied in the tunnel.

"Obviously, I'm a quite a placid guy, I really am. But if you cross that line with me, I'll react.

"The most important thing that night was the result, and we won the game.

"Whatever was going on in the tunnel, the important thing was going out and performing, which we did that night."
