Roy Keane reveals Ryan Yates chat after Nottingham Forest's stunning Arsenal win

Nottingham Forest legend Roy Keane hailed their stunning FA Cup win against Arsenal as he shovelled praise on midfielder Ryan Yates.

Yates played a crucial role in Lewis Grabban's winner as he sent over an inch-perfect cross that the striker converted to seal a memorable triumph against the Premier League Gunners.

It was a fully deserved victory for Forest who stopped Arsenal from registering a shot on target in the 90 minutes which sparked an angry reaction from Gunners fans.

And ITV pundit Keane, a Forest hero, waxed lyrical about the second-half performance.

"The second half, Forest were outstanding. They deserved it," he said.

"They produced that bit of quality. They wanted it more. It was a brilliant performance, particularly second half. "It's fantastic. Very simple. Great ball by Yates.

"As soon as it leaves his foot it's got goal written all over it. You felt it was coming.

"Grabban does what he does, one-touch finish. He just needs to make contact. Brilliant.

Keane also spoke to Yates after the game and the midfielder was at the club when the ex-Manchester United midfielder was assistant to ex-Reds boss Martin O'Neill.

On his chat with Yates, he said: "I worked with him for a short time when I was there with Martin and what he has got is an unbelievable attitude.

"Listen, he can be short on ability but he showed obviously today his attitude is fantastic. Produced the moment of the game with that cross."
