Roy Keane 'Quits' Instagram and leaves fans disappointed

By Oisin Doherty

Roy Keane has apparently deleted his Instagram account in a move that will dissappoint fans.

Keane created his Instagram account over a year ago and quickly became a smash hit on the platform. Since joining Instagram in early 2021, Keane amassed over 2.1 million followers and entertained the masses with his outrageous posts.

Unfortunately, these days appear to be over.

Roy Keane's Instagram account now displays this error message, which suggests that the account has been deleted (@OfficialKeane16)

Fans of the former Manchester United captains social media posts have taken to Twitter to express their displeasure at the news.

Caroline Ginty wrote "Have I got the exclusive that Roy Keane has deleted his Instagram account (Heartbreak emoji)?"

Many enjoyed Keano's posts as they showed a lighter side to his personality. The Republic of Ireland legend is renowned for his hard-hitting punditry style and abrasive nature on the pitch, and followers will be sure to miss how Keane's Instagram posts showed a softer and quite often hilarious side to him.

And the abrupt nature of his departure from Instagram has many wondering if a return to management is on the cards for Keane.

"Looks like Roy Keane has deleted his Instagram account. Such a shame," Writes Paul Brown on Twitter.

"It was brilliant - and helped you see another side of him, a funnier, mellower side. Perhaps a new job in management has led to the decision?"

With rumours swirling that Keane is being lined up for the Hibs job, perhaps the days of seeing Roy Keane swinging from a tree over a lake, are sadly over.
