Roy Keane has left his role as assistant manager to Martin O'Neill at Nottingham Forest following an amicable exit.
The Corkman followed O'Neill to the Championship side in January after working under the Derryman for the Republic of Ireland.
But Keane has decided it is the right time to move on and pursue other oppotunities.
He said: "Working with Martin over the last few years has been a magnificent experience, one of my greatest in football both as a player and a coach and one I want to personally thank him for."
Keane made his breakthrough as a player with Forest under Brian Clough before enjoying a stellar career with Manchester United.
He has managed Sunderland and Ipswich before working as O'Neill's assistant in the Ireland setup.
Nottingham Forest wrote on Twitter: "#NFFC can confirm that assistant manager Roy Keane has left the club.
"Everyone at the club would like to wish Roy the very best in the next stage of his career."
