Roy Keane mocks himself as he hails Man City star Kevin de Bruyne

Roy Keane has showered Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne with praise after his side's 2-1 win over Chelsea this evening.

The former Manchester United star was in the Sky Sports studio on punditry duties for the clash between two sides occupying spots in the top four.

But it was City who jumped above Chelsea thanks to the comeback win, with De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez finding the back of the net for the hosts following N'Golo Kante's opener.

City still remain nine points behind league leaders Liverpool but can at least be buoyed by their performance as De Bruyne took centre stage.

The notoriously frank Keane was even gushing post-match as he provided a kind and self-deprecating assessment of the 28-year-old.

"He's brilliant. He impacts the game in terms of goals and assists and he has that running power," Keane told Sky Sports.

"The one thing he does look is in control of everything and I spent half of my career fighting with the ball.

"But he always looks like he knows what he is doing. He has great vision and we take him for granted. I almost expect that from him and that's what happens when you're a top player. He's just so consistent."
