Roy Keane fears Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not get the time to turn things around at Manchester United.
United slumped to their second defeat of the season as they were beaten 2-0 by West Ham at the London Stadium.
The loss leaves United in eighth in the Premier League but the manner of the loss shows just how far adrift they are of title challengers Liverpool and Manchester City .
Keane played with Solskjaer during his time at Old Trafford and believes he may not get the time he needs in the job.
"There was a feel-good factor for Ole at the start and he needs three of four transfer windows," Keane said on Sky Sports.
"But if you're not getting results and lose matches like today, the pressure builds and builds. You won't get time."
"I have known Ole for a long time. I can tell looking at his eyes he is fuming and disgusted."
Keane continued his brutal assessment of Solskjaer's squad and suggested the players at his disposal are simply not up to the level required.
"He talks about characters and leaders but the proof is in the pudding.
"You go back to the basics of football, closing people down and sprinting to people and we didn't see that today.
"That sums United up, for all their lack of quality and goal threat.
"I think Ole's head must be spinning.
"The reality is, and I have said it for a couple of years, they're just not good enough for Manchester United."
Fellow pundit Graeme Souness echoed those sentiments, adding: "I would say this is the worst group United have had since the Premier League started.
"I grew up with United being an institution with experienced players. United are starting with a 22-year-old in Rashford and the next biggest threat is James.
"I think United find themselves in a very difficult place. From the minute Fergie left, the problems have compounded."
