Roy Keane levels accusation against Man City players after Leicester loss

Roy Keane accused Manchester City's players of lacking 'hunger and desire' after their shock defeat by Leicester City.

Pep Guardiola's side succumbed to a 5-2 loss to the Foxes on Sunday and currently find themselves six points off top spot in the Premier League - albeit with a game in hand on the early pace-setters.

City conceded three penalties in the game and looked brittle against Leicester's dangerous attackers and Keane says he was stunned at how poorly City defended in the game.

Speaking on Sky Sports, the former Manchester United midfielder said that this was worrying, particularly as it was only their second Premier League game of the season.

Keane said it was a sign of concern that the same defensive problems City had last season are already rearing their head again in this campaign.

"I was shocked watching Man City, I couldn’t believe how bad they were defensively, to give up five goals at home," Keane told Sky Sports.

"I got the impression some of the players almost lacked a bit of hunger and desire - and you’re a week into the season.

"You can forgive City last year, losing nine games, that can happen, you can have a tough season and still kind of get over the loss of Kompany etc, but the way they started the game yesterday, I couldn’t believe it.

"To see Walker defending the way he did, I was shocked with what I was watching. I can’t believe how bad they were, defensively."
