Roy Keane left frustrated by the same 'rubbish' Manchester United problem

Roy Keane has admitted that he is running out of ways to defend Manchester United's "rubbish" displays after their draw with Chelsea.

Cristiano Ronaldo's equaliser ensured United frustrated Chelsea on their visit to Old Trafford as the draw meant that the Blues' wait for a win at Old Trafford edges towards a decade. Thomas Tuchel's side registered 15 more shots than the hosts on Thursday but failed to secure the win.

Keane has been critical of United throughout the campaign and following the draw against Chelsea he was blunt in his assessment. "I think being hands-on with the group of players you're talking about, big players, big personalities, it's not worked out," he said.

"We talk about being a coach or working in the background but some of these players want a big personality, they want someone to manage the group and when they see a weakness in a manager where they think 'you're going to be gone in a few months'... good luck.

"In a dressing room with big players, looking at the dressing room, they've taken no notice of him. They've not taken on board whatever he's suggesting, whatever he's doing on the training ground.

"There's been no reaction in terms of body language, desire to stay in football matches, being hard to beat, whatever the style of play. They've shown a little bit of pride tonight.

"How many different ways can we say Manchester United have been rubbish all season? Every week we're trying to come up with something different; personalities, tactics, the manager's fault, board level - they've been rubbish most of the season."
