Roy Keane in angry confrontation with Manchester United fan after Man City defeat

Roy Keane was videoed having an angry confrontation with a Manchester United fan following Saturday’s derby defeat to Manchester City.

The former United captain was at Old Trafford working as a pundit for Sky Sports, and didn’t hold back in his assessment of the players following the hosts’ 2-0 defeat.

Having finished with his duties for the day, Keane was seen signing a shirt for a supporter outside the ground when another fan approached and criticised the former midfielder.

Keane reacted angrily, accusing the fan of having had ‘a few pints’ as he took a step towards the man in question, before storming off.

The incident was captured by another fan and posted on social media, with the video starting with the supporter saying: “You’re a legend of this club.”

Keane responded: “What am I trying to do? Hang around all day and sign autographs? I’ve signed autographs.”

The fan then said: “Why are you being like that”, with Keane replying: “Like what? What did I do?”

The supporter responded: “An absolute p****.”

Keane took a step towards the fan, saying: “Oh, because you've had a few drinks and they (United) got beat you're taking it out on me? What's that got to do with me?

“You've had a few drinks, I can tell. What have you had, two pints? Tell all your mates not to lecture me.”

The former United captain then stormed off, passing a number of other fans along the way.

The incident came after another damaging defeat for United, with Keane’s former team-mate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer facing more pressure over his position as manager.

And the former midfielder didn’t hold back in his criticism of the club’s players, having seen them once again roll over against one of the league’s top sides.

'I give up on these players. These are international footballers,” Keane said.

“I can't understand the defending - I give up. Really so poor, difference in class, quality, decision-making, everything. It was men vs boys.

“United are so off it, it's unbelievable. It should be a difficult place to come - it's not. Teams are coming here and getting joy.”
