Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has hit out at those who have previously criticised the penalty record of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side in recent seasons.
United's record of penalties is significantly higher than their rivals, which has led to accusations of bias from the officials on a number of occasions.
However, in Sunday's goalless draw against Chelsea, Man United saw appeals for a handball against Callum Hudson-Odoi turned down after a VAR review.
Referee Stuart Attwell took a second look at the incident on the pitch-side monitors but elected to uphold his initial call, much to the fury of United.
After the game, Keane took a swipe at those who have previously made comments about United's record - namedropping fellow pundit Graeme Souness and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
“People have been complaining in the last few months about Man United getting too many penalties. I think Graeme is one, Klopp has been another one," he told Sky Sports.
"We always say that United get in the penalty box a lot more than their opposition, they have players dribbling at people, they’re likely to get more penalties. Ole feels it was a penalty and we all felt the same at half-time.”
The controversy surrounding the incident is likely to rumble on for the remainder of the week after United defender Luke Shaw claimed Attwell admitted VAR wanted him to overturn his decision but it would cause too much controversy.
VAR and the standard of officiating in the Premier League this season has regularly come under scrutiny following a number of high-profile incidents.
However, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel was adamant in his assessment that the right decision was made in the match.
