Roy Keane hints why Man United target Jadon Sancho doesn't start for England

Roy Keane has explained why Manchester United target Jadon Sancho is yet to start at this summer's European Championship.

Sancho has been in sensational form for Borussia Dortmund this season, scoring 16 goals and recording 20 assists in all competitions, but there's been little room for the winger in Gareth Southgate's immediate plans.

The 21-year-old made his first appearance for England at Euro 2020 against the Czech Republic on Tuesday night, making a late cameo from the bench as the Three Lions won their group thanks to Raheem Sterling's goal.

Considering the lofty heights he's regularly reached in the Bundesliga, though, fans and pundits alike have been baffled at Sancho's omission, and now United legend Keane has speculated over why the youngster isn't starting for England.

Do you think Sancho should start for England? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

“We all follow the players what they’re doing every week for their clubs but Gareth has had three or four weeks with the players," Keane said on ITV.

"He’ll look at players’ attitude to training, particularly players that have been left out, and this is certainly a talented kid.

"What England missed the other night was extra energy and pace, people going past players and this kid will bring that.”
