Roy Keane has theory on Manchester United transfer for Cristiano Ronaldo

Roy Keane believes that Manchester United have re-signed Cristiano Ronaldo because Ole Gunnar Solskjaer isn't happy with his attacking options.

Ronaldo is set to rejoin the club after 12 years away with Real Madrid and Juventus, after the club agreed a deal with the Serie A side to bring him back to Old Trafford this summer.

The Portuguese forward scored 101 goals in 134 games for Juventus during his three year spell with the Italian outfit, but is now set to return to Old Trafford — whom he left in 2009 after winning three Premier League titles, the Champions League and Ballon d'Or during a sensational six-year stint.

With United already possessing attackers such as Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford, Keane told Sky Sports that he believes Solskjaer must have issues with his current squad for him to make such a transfer.

Keane was working as a Sky Sportd pundit after United 's 1-0 win over Wolves at Molineux Stadium, where they secured three points despite a poor performance thanks to a controversial late winner from Greenwood.

When asked what Ronaldo would be thinking after the performance against Wolves, Keane said; "I think he will think they were poor today.

"Ole made the point he sees him through the middle, okay we didn’t see the best of it, but they will create chances and he wants him to be on the end of it.

"There’s obviously question marks over Cavani, Greenwood is a good young prospect, he doesn’t trust Martial and that’s why they went and got him.

"Ole said there he didn’t think he’d leave Juventus this season but they were ready to pounce and Ronaldo will score goals for Man United that’s a guarantee."

Ronaldo is set to sign a two-year contract with United and could make his second debut against Newcastle on September 11th after the international break.
