Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane was vocal in his criticism of the Reds' midfield when they scraped a 1-0 win against Wolves the last time they met at the end of August.
Wanderers proved tricky opponents for then-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, spearheaded by the power of Adama Traore, United had David de Gea and Mason Greenwood to thank for securing a record 28th away match without defeat.
Brazilian midfielder Fred was one of the players in the firing line after he found himself in trouble on a number of occasions against Bruno Lage's side in a clash that saw him lose eight duels.
One incident saw him dispossessed on the halfway line as Francisco Trincao raced forward chipping over De Gea only for stellar work from Aaron Wan-Bissaka to scoop off the line.
The 28-year-old was a late introduction last time out in the win over Burnley as Scott McTominay shone but Keane's past words will give Ralf Rangnick food for thought ahead of the visit.
In August speaking during the post-match reaction, Keane lamented: "Sometimes I think if you’re going to play in midfield for a big club, you’ve got to hang your hat on something to say well he’s brilliant at going forward or he’s brilliant defensively or he’s got a goal in him or he’s great at… I don’t see any of them in Fred, any of them.
"I think [Scott] McTominay is in with a chance of being a player. Matic, ah you know… would any of these get into the Manchester City team? Or Liverpool or Chelsea? I don’t see it, so I wouldn’t know the combination."

Bruno Fernandes will return from suspension for Monday's clash but his inclusion in the starting XI is no guarantee after suffering a dip in form.
