Roy Keane goes in two-footed on Jose Mourinho as Man Utd beat Man City in derby

Roy Keane reckons Manchester United's recent win over Jose Mourinho's Tottenham "wasn't a big deal" because "we know their mentality".

The Red Devils made it two wins in two against the Big Six on Saturday as United ran out 2-1 winners over rivals Manchester City at the Etihad.

The victory saw United reclaim fifth at the expense of Mourinho's Spurs, and Keane believes taking three points against City is a much bigger feat than beating Tottenham.

"I said before the show, I don't think beating Tottenham at home was a big deal. Spurs, we know their mentality," Keane told Sky Sports.

"But beating Man City can only given the players confidence. The players have been criticised a lot and today we need to take our hats off. They were outstanding.

"It was a Manchester United performance. The way they managed the game, the blocks, it was brilliant. For me that's what Manchester United is all about.

"But they have to do is consistently and they do need a helping hand and hopefully they get that."

Mourinho put the boot in on United following defeat last week where he suggested the Red Devils are no longer a big team.

"United results against the best teams this season have been good. Chelsea, Liverpool, Leicester," said Mourinho. "For the way they play it is easier for them. They are not afraid to have a defensive approach.

"It is easier for them against better teams, against teams who want more of the ball."
