Roy Keane gives verdict on Jack Grealish transfer to Man City

Roy Keane believes Jack Grealish will only improve at Manchester City after completing his £100m transfer to the club this week.

The former Aston Villa captain was handed the number 10 shirt upon his arrival and is expected to be a key member of Pep Guardiola's squad after completing the move. The England international was named on the bench for the Community Shield after just one training session with his new club, and Keane believes Grealish made the right decision in moving to City.

Speaking to ITV during their coverage of the Community Shield against Leicester, Keane said; "The potential was always there, the worry was injuries and off the field stuff.

"He’s matured over the years and a huge statement, he’ll improve with the players he’s with. Good move for Villa as well. Going to City is the perfect fit for Jack, Pep’s the main man."

Grealish enjoyed his best season with six goals and ten assists in 26 appearances last season and will be expected to add to those tallies under Guardiola and City, with the blue side of Manchester expected to challenge on all fronts once again this season.

While he was named on the bench for Saturday's game, he will be hopeful of earning himself a start in the first Premier League game of the season against Tottenham next weekend.
