Roy Keane gives damning one-word assessment of Arsenal's midfield after Man United performance

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has delivered a damning one-word verdict on the midfield trio Arsenal selected for their Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

The two top-four hopefuls were both in need of a result after an inconsistent start to the 2019/20 season, which has reignited the debate surrounding the decline of two sides who were once the driving forces in English football.

Unai Emery made changes to his Arsenal side for the trip to the North West, bringing Lucas Torreira into the midfield to partner Granit Xhaka and Matteo Guendouzi in the centre of the field.

While the introduction of the Uruguay international provides additional steel to the midfield, Keane is still not convinced about the trio and gave a stern one-word verdict when asked about his view on the selection.

“Lightweight," he told Sky Sports.

"That springs to mind straight away. I think you’d fancy your chances against them three.

“You’re on about the Arsenal midfield there and you don’t know what you’re going to get with these players. That’s not a good sign.”

The game finished 1-1 after goals from Scott McTominay and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
