Roy Keane gives damning assessment of Liverpool squad after Fulham defeat

Roy Keane believes Liverpool's biggest concern is a lack of unity in their performances, claiming the Reds are now in "crisis".

Jurgen Klopp 's side suffered their sixth-consecutive defeat at Anfield on Sunday after they lost 1-0 to Fulham.

It was a second 1-0 reverse inside a week after Liverpool lost to Chelsea on Thursday night, further adding to concerns that the club could miss out on qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

After another goalless defeat at home, Keane admitted his biggest concern for Liverpool is their fragmented performances, claiming they are not "playing as a team".

“The biggest worry I have for Liverpool - to me, they’re not playing as a team," Keane told Sky Sports.

"They’re not a team, the signs have been there for the last few months and you’re thinking: ‘Are they really that bad?’.

"It’s obviously crisis time for Liverpool now. They are not playing as a team and that should be the manager’s biggest worry.”

“I still find it strange to make seven changes given where they were prior to the game," Souness added.

"I still felt they could get themselves into the top four. It’s a double-edged thing for me, when you start with some of your main players on the bench, the message that sends to Fulham today is: they’re not showing us respect.

"As a manager that’s how I’d have used it, they’re thinking they can pick a reserve team and turn you over, you’ve got to go out there and prove them wrong.

"I think when you hand the initiative to the opposition and you end up chasing the game, it’s totally wrong, you bring on some of your main men to try and claw the game back.

"The way I was brought up, you start right, get your goals and then take off the players that are tired or maybe carrying an injury. It beggars belief to how a team can go from being so good to so average.

"It’s okay asking questions about the manager, but it’s about the players. Jurgen Klopp has found out exactly what he’s got in his dressing room. Some of them have not stood up to the challenge.

"When you’re a big player and you win a trophy - that’s parked, enjoy it for a week, now it’s time to add to it next season. In the close season, you’re on a beach in Spain and you’re thinking about the challenges ahead.

"I would say some of those players haven’t done that, they’re enjoying the moment thinking it may never happen to us again, that’s not Liverpool - it’s all about winning again and again and again.”
